GENERAL MODEL ADVICE
Models Advice. We’ve put together a list of do’s and don’ts to help you to be the best model that you can be.
DO look your best. When you are attending castings always make sure that you look well groomed. Wear clothing that will show off your figures – a fitted t-shirt or vest, skinny jeans and high heels is always a winning option. Make sure your hair is clean and of your face and keep nails short and natural. If you have to wear makeup keep it light and natural – clear mascara, tinted moisturiser and lip-gloss is the most you should wear.
DO look after your skin. It is no secret that smoking and alcohol age the skin. Make sure you eat a balanced diet with plenty of water, fresh fruit and vegetable to give your skin and eye a healthy glow.
DO have a backup plan. It is always advisable to finish your studies before embarking on a modelling career – looks fade so it is always sensible to have a backup plan
DO use your common sense – if it looks too good to be true then it often is. Avoid agencies that advertise online or in the classified sections – especially if they guarantee you work.
DON’T forget to exercise. Your face and body is what will be getting you work so it is important that you keep it in top condition
DON’T starve yourself. To be a successful model you need to look healthy and have energy. The modelling industry has developed immensely so don’t works against your natural body shape instead find a style of modelling that will suit your figure.
DON’T be afraid to say NO. You should not feel pressured to do anything that you don’t feel comfortable doing.
DON’T take unnecessary risks. If you are visiting an agency for the first time, make sure you research them thoroughly and take someone along with you for support and safety.
